This is an estimate, not a customs assessment. It excludes broker fees, port and terminal charges, inland transport and product certification. Rates change, and the final amount depends on the classification and value accepted by customs.

How it is calculated in Nigeria

Nigeria's levy on the FOB value has changed recently. Some agents now quote a 4% FCS charge, while older guides still show a 1% CISS. The field is editable so you can match what your clearing agent tells you.

VAT is charged on the total of the CIF value, duty and all levies, which is why it often ends up being the largest line.

Customs may assess a value different from your invoice. Always confirm the final figure with your clearing agent.

ItemCalculation
Import dutyCustoms value (cif) × duty rate
Surcharge (on duty)(import duty) × 7%
Levy on FOB value (FCS or CISS)(FOB value) × 4%
ETLS levy(customs value (CIF)) × 0.5%
VAT(customs value (CIF) + import duty + surcharge + levy on fob value + etls levy) × 7.5%
