Everything We Handle for You

Ghana is a fast-growing entry point for imports into West Africa — construction materials, vehicle parts, plastics, textiles and electronics all move through Tema in growing volumes, which also means real markups if you're buying through a middleman. Here's how we help, whatever stage you're at:

New Product Sourcing

Have a product idea or a spec to match? We connect you with factories across China, Vietnam, Thailand and Malaysia to design, sample and validate it before you commit to a container.

  • Design & development support
  • Physical samples shipped to Ghana
  • Direct factory price negotiation

Cheaper Materials, Same Specs

Already importing construction materials, vehicle parts or plastics through a trading middleman? We go direct to the certified factory and cut out the markup you're currently paying.

  • Certified factories only
  • Direct FOB/FCA freight, no broker markup
  • 25–35% average savings

Inspection for Existing Suppliers

Already have a supplier in Asia but no one checking the goods before they ship? We inspect independently, on your behalf, before the container leaves port.

  • On-site QC before shipment
  • AQL sampling standards
  • Photo & video reports within 24h
Logistics into Ghana

Delivered to the Port of Tema

We manage sourcing, inspection and export logistics from the factory floor in Asia through to the Port of Tema, including export documentation. Once your shipment arrives, we connect you directly with a licensed Ghanaian clearing and transport partner who handles customs clearance, duty/VAT payment, and last-mile delivery to your business — billed and paid directly between you and them.

Real Numbers, Not Guesswork

What It Actually Costs to Land Goods in Ghana

Landed cost is where most first-time Ghanaian importers get surprised — not by the factory price, but by everything added on top of it at the border. Here's the real math on a shipment from China into Tema, so there are no surprises when your container lands.

ItemRate / RangeNotes
Import Duty0% – 35% of CIF valueMost categories fall between 5–20%
VAT15% of subtotalApplied after other levies
NHIL + GETFund Levy2.5% + 2.5% of subtotalNational Health Insurance & education fund levies
Processing Fee + ECOWAS + AU Levy1% + 0.5% + 0.2% of CIFRegional trade and processing levies
Sea Freight (20GP / 40GP)Moderate–high, varies by carrier & seasonChina to Tema — we quote current rates with every project
Customs Clearance3–14 business daysGreen channel: 3–7 days · Red channel (physical inspection): +7–14 days

Ghana's landed cost stacks several smaller levies on top of duty and VAT — easy to underestimate if you're pricing a shipment for the first time. We build all of them into your quote upfront so your margin calculation is accurate before you commit.

Transparent Pricing

A Deposit, Not a Paywall.

There's no cost to start the sourcing process itself. We ask for a fully credited deposit to dedicate our team to supplier research, factory vetting, negotiation and sample coordination — and if you move forward with a bulk order, that deposit is deducted in full from your final invoice. If you decide not to proceed, the deposit covers the work already completed.

StepWhat It CoversTerms
Sourcing Deposit (per product)Supplier research, factory vetting, negotiation, sample coordinationUpfront; 100% credited toward your bulk order if you proceed
Factory InspectionOn-site QC visit, photo/video reportPayable before the inspection
Bulk OrderFactory price + built-in margin100% upfront, before shipment

Payments are made in USD. Exact figures depend on your product, order size and destination country — request our current price list for specifics before you commit to anything.

Common Questions

What Ghanaian Importers Ask Us

Do you only source from China?+
No — we source across Asia, including China, Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia, depending on which factories offer the best fit, price and lead time for your product.
Can you inspect a factory I'm already using?+
Yes. We regularly run independent inspections for importers who already have a supplier in Asia but no one checking quality on-site before the goods ship. We report back to you directly, not the factory.
How does payment work?+
There's no cost to start — the Sourcing Deposit is credited in full toward your bulk order if you move forward. Inspections are paid before each visit, and bulk orders are paid in full before shipment. You always know exactly what you're paying for before you send a cent.
How much will duty, VAT and levies actually add to my order?+
Budget for duty (typically 5–20%, up to 35% for some categories), 15% VAT, plus NHIL and GETFund levies (2.5% each) and smaller processing/ECOWAS/AU levies. We build all of these into your landed cost estimate before you commit to an order, not after.
Why not just order through Alibaba myself?+
You can — and many importers start there. Where we add value is verifying the factory is real before you pay, negotiating a better price, inspecting the goods before they ship, and preparing documentation so your shipment doesn't get flagged for the red channel at Tema.
How long does clearance take at Tema?+
Green-channel shipments (no inspection) typically clear in 3–7 working days. If your shipment is flagged for physical examination (red channel), add 7–14 days. Clean, accurate documentation is the biggest factor in which channel you land in.
